What are the Sealskinz Holverstone children's socks suitable for?

The Holverstone is a mid-length, waterproof sock for children designed to keep their feet dry in rain, mud and wet trails – without the need for waterproof rubber boots.

Dry feet while playing outdoors: The Aquasealz™ membrane keeps moisture out while allowing perspiration to escape (manufacturer's information). Children can play, run, and jump without getting wet feet.

Pleasantly soft for delicate skin: The 100% bamboo viscose lining is particularly soft and skin-friendly. Bamboo also has natural odor-inhibiting properties – the sock stays fresh even after a long day outdoors.

No chafing, no slipping: The seamless construction and a midfoot grip keep the sock in place. Hand-linked toe seams prevent pressure points and blisters.

For barefoot shoes and lightweight shoes: Many children's barefoot shoes are not made of waterproof material. The Holverstone makes them rainproof – without rubber boots.

According to the manufacturer, the Aquasealz™ membrane (Sealskinz) is completely waterproof while allowing perspiration to escape from the inside. The bamboo lining is exceptionally soft, breathable, and naturally inhibits odor formation – ideal for active children who spend all day outdoors.
Care & Cleaning

Cleaning:Machine wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach, do not dry clean, do not iron.

Drying:Do not tumble dry. Air dry.

A notice:Do not use fabric softener – this can impair the membrane function.

How does the waterproofing work?

A sewn-in Aquasealz™ membrane between the outer and inner materials keeps moisture out (manufacturer's information). The sock itself stays dry – the shoe around it does not.

How do I choose the right size?

M fits EU sizes 27–29, L fits EU sizes 30–34. If in doubt, choose one size larger, as waterproof socks are thicker than regular children's socks.

From what age are the socks suitable?

Size M (EU 27–29) usually fits from about 5–7 years, L (EU 30–34) from about 8–11 years – depending on the child's foot size.

Will the sock withstand puddles?

According to the manufacturer, yes – the Aquasealz™ membrane keeps water out. However, if water runs down the shaft into the sock, the membrane cannot help.
