Doghammer was founded in 2015 by college friends Maximilian Hundhammer and Matthias Drexlmaier in Rosenheim – the name is simply "Hundhammer" in English. What started with outdoor flip-flops now has a clear barefoot focus: the Terrar models are handmade in a family-run factory in Portugal, combine regional wool – including that from the Pomeranian Landrace sheep – with recycled cork from the brand's own collection campaign Cork Collect, and warehousing and shipping are handled by a Rosenheim facility for people with disabilities. The soles are deliberately designed to be a bit more robust than minimalist models – ideal for anyone who wants more protection when walking barefoot.

Frequently Asked Questions about Doghammer

How do Doghammer barefoot shoes fit? This depends on the model. Measure your foot length while standing on both feet and compare it with the size chart on the respective product page.

Are Doghammer "real" barefoot shoes? Yes – wide toe box, flexible sole, zero drop. However, Terrar soles are a bit thicker and more robust than very minimalist models: perfect for beginners and anyone who wants more protection. Those looking for maximum ground feel will tend to opt for thin-soled models or sock shoes.

What are Doghammer shoes made of? Primarily natural materials: regional wool, recycled cork from collected wine corks, and other natural and recycled materials – handcrafted in Portugal.
