Sealskinz was founded in Norfolk, England, in 1996 and launched the first laminated waterproof sock. At its core is the patented Aquasealz membrane in a three-layer construction: a robust outer shell against abrasion, a waterproof yet breathable membrane in the middle that keeps out rain and mud but allows sweat to escape as water vapor, and a soft functional lining inside – made of merino wool or bamboo, depending on the model. This keeps feet dry without standing in their own sweat.
