Description

What is the Xero Shoes Ridgeway Mesh Low suitable for?

Designed for day hikes in low mountain ranges, the Ridgeway Mesh Low is also the shoe you'll keep wearing at the café afterwards. At around 249 g per shoe, it weighs less than many running shoes.

Grip on forest trails and gravel paths: The coarsely treaded outsole stays on course on forest floors, gravel, and marked hiking trails. The abrasion-resistant toe cap absorbs impacts against roots and stones. Wet rock remains slippery, however – this applies to any rubber sole.

Cool feet on warm days: The mesh upper is designed for air permeability, which is noticeable on long summer days and steep ascents. As a vegan barefoot shoe, it contains no animal materials.

Room for the forefoot: The foot-shaped toe box allows your toes to spread, and the sole lies flat on the ground without a heel. Those coming from cushioned hiking boots will feel much more of the ground here.

Included in the package: 1 pair of Xero Shoes Ridgeway Mesh Low, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The name ‘barefoot shoe’ describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not the naked foot.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Plan for 12–17 mm of additional space beyond your foot length.

Is the insole removable in this shoe?

Yes, the insole can be removed.

This is my first time wearing barefoot shoes – what should I look out for?

Sore muscles in the calves and soles of the feet are normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in new ways. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and increase gradually. If you have existing foot complaints or joint problems, speak to your doctor or orthopedist before making the switch.

Is the shoe waterproof?

No, the mesh upper allows water to pass through – it is designed for breathability. For wet trips, a model with a membrane is more suitable.
