Description

What is the Starlite 2.0 Men suitable for?

A barefoot sneaker for anyone who wants to switch from a classic, cushioned sneaker to a barefoot shoe without making the direct jump to a feather-light minimalist model. With its Y2K retro look, it doesn't stand out as a barefoot shoe in everyday life, at the office, or on city paths.

More weight and support than lighter barefoot shoes: The voluminous upper made of leather and mesh overlays, as well as the wide shaft, provide a more familiar feel if you're used to regular sneakers. You don't give up any barefoot properties – the sole is flat, flexible, and without a heel.

Room for your toes without looking clunky: The Barefoot Fit gives the forefoot space, yet the shoe still looks like a classic retro sneaker. Nappa and velour leather combined with mesh ensure air circulation for your feet.

When the Starlite 2.0 is not the right model: Anyone expecting a feather-light barefoot shoe or who is already used to very light, minimalist models will find the higher weight and voluminous shaft construction too much. For pure minimalists, a lighter model is the better choice.

Included: 1 pair of Groundies Starlite 2.0 Men, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, perfectly normal. The name "barefoot shoe" describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not the bare foot.

How much space should there be at the front of the shoe?

Allow 12–17 mm extra in addition to your foot length. The model fits true to size.

Is the Starlite 2.0 a good introduction to barefoot shoes?

Yes, it was specifically designed for that purpose. Due to its voluminous upper material and higher weight, it feels closer to a classic sneaker than lighter barefoot models when worn. The sole is still flat and flexible at 6 mm. Those looking for a minimalist, feather-light barefoot shoe would be better off with a more minimalist model.

I'm wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I look out for?

Soreness in your calves and the soles of your feet is normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in a new way. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and gradually increase. If you have existing foot complaints or joint problems, talk to your doctor or orthopedist before switching.

Material & Construction
  • Upper material:Nappa and velour leather (cow) with breathable mesh textile
  • Inner material:Microfiber (100% PU), temperature-regulating
  • Sole:TrueSense® GSP2, 4.5 mm base + 1.5 mm tread
  • Sole thickness:6 mm total (4.5 mm base + 1.5 mm tread)
  • Heel:Zero-drop
  • Fit:Barefoot Fit, true to size

The sole of the Starlite 2.0 is within the usual barefoot range at 6 mm – flat, flexible, and with a zero-drop. The Y2K look is created by the voluminous upper made of leather and mesh overlays, as well as the visually elevated sole edge. This makes the shoe significantly heavier than lighter, minimalist barefoot sneakers and provides a more stable fit on the foot.
