What is the Merrell Wrapt suitable for?

Are you looking for a barefoot shoe that works just as well on your commute to work as it does on the trail on the weekend? The Wrapt is made for exactly this balancing act – robust enough for outdoors, understated enough for everyday wear.

Secure grip on any surface: The Quantum Grip™ rubber sole grips equally well on gravel, wet leaves, and asphalt. The striking tread pattern looks distinctive, but performs reliably.

Compromise-free protection from wetness: The water-repellent suede keeps splashes and light rain out, while the recycled mesh lining inside ensures air circulation. The bellows tongue also keeps dirt and small stones out.

Beginner-friendly with a barefoot feel: The zero-drop and wide toe box allow for natural foot movement. The 13 mm stack height offers more protection than ultra-minimalist models – good if you're just starting to switch to barefoot shoes.

Yes, the Wrapt can be worn with or without socks.

How much space should I have at the front?

12-17 mm in addition to foot length. Measure both feet and use the longer one as a guide.

Can I hike with them?

Yes, the Quantum Grip™ sole provides good traction on unpaved terrain. For challenging mountain tours, there is the mid-variant with more ankle protection.

Is the shoe suitable for rain?

The suede is treated to be water-repellent. In heavy rain, moisture can penetrate through the seams – regular waterproofing helps.

Is it suitable for barefoot shoe beginners?

Especially so: The slightly thicker sole offers more protection than purely minimalist models and makes the transition easier.

Technology & Special Features: The Barefoot 2 construction principle follows the natural foot shape. The bellows tongue keeps dirt and debris out. Webbing and footbed cover are made from recycled material, and the insole is treated with Cleansport NXT™ for odor control.
Care & Cleaning

Cleaning: Allow coarse dirt to dry and brush off. If necessary, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.

Waterproofing: Before first wear and regularly thereafter, treat with a waterproofing spray suitable for suede.

Drying: Allow wet shoes to dry at room temperature – do not place them on a heater or in direct sunlight.
