What is the Xero Shoes D-Trail Men's suitable for?

Intended as a transitional sandal for summer and early autumn – city paths, light hiking trails, and days when shoes and sandals alternate. The D-Trail comes from Xero Shoes' barefoot concept and is close to the ground with an 11 mm stack and zero drop.

Three adjustable hook-and-loop straps for a perfect fit: There is one strap each at the ankle, midfoot, and in front of the toes. You adjust each one individually to fit the sandal to your foot volume. When slipping them on, the heel strap opens with hook-and-loop – quick to put on and take off.

Ground feedback without a toe post: The FeelTrue® sole with a dual-chevron profile grips on dry forest floors, firm gravel paths, and asphalt. You feel the ground, your toes have room, and no post presses between your toes.

Can I wear the sandal with socks?

Yes, perfectly normal. The name “barefoot shoe” describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not a bare foot.

How much space should there be in front of the toes?

Allow for an extra 7–10 mm in addition to your foot length.

I'm wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I be aware of?

Soreness in your calves and soles is normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in a new way. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and gradually increase. If you have existing foot ailments or joint problems, speak with your doctor or orthopedist before making the switch.

Can I hike in them?

According to the manufacturer, the D-Trail is suitable for light outdoor activities, day trips on forest and gravel paths, and urban routes. It is not designed for mountain tours.

Care & Cleaning

Cleaning: Hand wash with warm water and mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Drying: Air dry away from direct sunlight – this protects the TrailFoam midsole and the hook-and-loop straps.
