Description

What is the DayLite Hiker Fusion suitable for?

Intended for day hikes on marked trails, forest paths, and gravel – anywhere a stiff technical boot is more than you need. Weighing around 249g per shoe, it stays light on your feet all day long.

Grip on changing terrain: The FeelTrue® rubber sole – Xero Shoes' proprietary compound – features a deep, grippy tread pattern. It holds reliably on forest soil, gravel, and packed dirt roads, though caution is still advised on wet rock and roots.

Ground feel instead of cushioning: The 12.5 mm sole construction with a zero-drop heel keeps you close to the ground – offering noticeably more feedback than classic hiking boots. The foot-shaped forefoot gives your toes room to splay.

Protection without stiffness: The welded upper is abrasion-resistant and repels splashes, while the integrated tension straps pull the shoe snugly against the midfoot. It is not waterproof – the tongue is separate from the rest of the upper.

In the box: 1 pair of Xero Shoes DayLite Hiker Fusion Women, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The name "barefoot shoe" describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not a bare foot.

How much room should there be at the front of the shoe?

Plan for 12–17 mm of extra space beyond your foot length. This allows room for the natural rolling motion of the foot.

Is the insole in this shoe removable?

Yes, the insole can be removed. Without it, the shoe has a slightly roomier fit and you are closer to the ground.

I am wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I look out for?

Soreness in your calves and soles is normal in the first few weeks as your muscles are being challenged in new ways. Start with 30–60 minutes a day and increase gradually. If you have existing foot or joint issues, consult your doctor or orthopedist before making the switch.

Is the DayLite Hiker Fusion waterproof?

No, the tongue is separate from the rest of the upper material, though the robust fabric does repel splashes. For consistently wet treks, a model with a membrane is more suitable.
