Description

What is the Mesa Trail II suitable for?

Designed for forest trails, gravel, and marked paths in low mountain ranges – from a light morning jog to a day hike. Weighing in at 190g per shoe in size 37.5, it is even lighter than the original Mesa Trail.

Grip on loose surfaces: The lugged tread provides traction on forest floors, gravel, and firm dirt paths. As with any rubber sole, caution is advised on wet rock and roots.

Toe room and low profile: The foot-shaped toe box allows your toes to splay, and the zero-drop sole keeps you close to the ground. 11.5 mm stack height with zero drop – as a barefoot hiking shoe, it provides significantly more ground feedback than a classic hiking shoe.

Breathability over waterproofing: The mesh upper is designed for breathability, not water resistance. Welded components, a thin toe cap, and reinforced sidewalls handle the abrasion encountered on the trail.

In the box: 1 pair of Xero Shoes Mesa Trail II Women's, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

EU notice: Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The name "barefoot shoe" describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero-drop), not wearing them without socks.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Plan for an extra 12–17 mm beyond your foot length.

Is the insole removable in this shoe?

Yes, the insole can be removed. Without it, you get more ground feel; with it, you get a bit more cushioning.

I am wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I keep in mind?

Soreness in your calves and the soles of your feet is normal during the first few weeks as your muscles are being challenged in new ways. Start with 30–60 minutes a day and increase gradually. If you have existing foot or joint issues, consult your doctor or orthopedist before switching.

Is the Mesa Trail II waterproof?

No, the mesh upper material lets water through. For wet conditions, a model with a membrane is more suitable.
