Description

What is the Xero Shoes Mika suitable for?

A winter boot for cold city streets and everyday wear between November and March — at around 340g per shoe, it is a lightweight option among winter boots. Xero Shoes categorizes it as a lifestyle model for everyday use, not as a hiking boot for rugged terrain.

Warm without thick padding: The flannel lining and heat-reflective insole keep your feet warm without adding bulk to the shoe. The canvas is water-repellent — though not waterproof.

Quick to put on and take off: Each boot features a side zipper in addition to the lacing. You adjust the laces once to fit your foot, after which you can get in and out using the zipper.

Ground feel and secure footing: The wide toe box allows your toes to splay, while the thin, flexible zero-drop sole lets you feel the ground. The grippy tread, featuring two rows of offset lugs, provides traction on solid surfaces. As with any rubber sole, caution is advised on ice and wet cobblestones.

In the package: 1 pair of Xero Shoes Mika, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

EU notice: Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The name "barefoot shoe" describes the sensation of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not a bare foot.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Plan for 12–17 mm in addition to your foot length.

Is the insole removable in this shoe?

Yes, the insole can be removed.

Are the boots waterproof?

No, the canvas is water-repellent, but not waterproof. For consistently wet conditions, a model with a membrane is more suitable.

I am wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I look out for?

Sore muscles in the calves and soles of the feet are normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in new ways. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and increase gradually. If you have existing foot complaints or joint problems, speak to your doctor or orthopedist before switching.
