Description

What is the Xero Shoes Scrambler Low EV Men's shoe suitable for?

Designed for day hikes on forest and mountain trails, casual jogs off-road, and the path between city and trail. At 260.8 g per shoe, it's one of the brand's lightest trail runners.

Grip that lasts for many kilometers: The outsole was developed in collaboration with Michelin. The 3mm tread grips on dry forest floors, loose scree on hiking trails, and firm gravel. The Fiberlite compound combines thin rubber with a textile backing – flexible yet abrasion-resistant.

Direct ground feel despite trail protection: With a 14mm stack and zero drop, you get more feedback from the ground than with classic hiking shoes, but more protection than with a sandal. The foot-shaped forefoot allows the toes to splay, and the zero-drop supports an upright posture.

Breathable and quick-drying: The polyester mesh allows air to circulate and dries quickly after stream crossings or rain. It's not waterproof – but that also means no moisture build-up in the shoe in hot weather. Not designed for high mountains or alpine terrain.

Included: 1 pair of Xero Shoes Scrambler Low EV Men's, packaged in our plastic-free outer packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, you can wear them both with and without socks.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Allow an additional 12–17 mm beyond your foot length.

Is the insole in this shoe removable?

Yes, the 3.5 mm insole is removable – without it, the ground feel will be more direct.

I'm wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I be aware of?

Soreness in your calves and soles is normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in new ways. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and gradually increase. If you have existing foot ailments or joint problems, consult your doctor or orthopedist before making the switch.

Is the shoe waterproof?

No, the mesh upper allows water to pass through. For wet conditions, a model with a membrane is more suitable.

Is it suitable for day hikes in low mountain ranges?

Yes, it works well on marked trails and solid ground. It is not designed for alpine terrain, scree fields, and steep rocky areas – it lacks ankle support there.
