Description

What is the Xero Shoes Scrambler Mid II suitable for?

An ultra-light hiking boot for marked trails in low mountain ranges, forest paths, and gravel tracks – for day trips as well as multi-day tours. Weighing around 332 g per shoe (size 42), it is lighter than many classic hiking boots.

Grip on varied terrain: The outsole was developed in collaboration with tire manufacturer Michelin. Its mud-shedding lugs provide grip on forest floors, gravel, and firm hiking trails. As with any rubber sole, caution is advised on wet rock and roots.

Flexible instead of stiff: The mid-high shaft leaves the ankle free, while the upper material and welded sidewalls keep out dirt, small stones, and mud. The thin zero-drop sole allows the foot to work, and the foot-shaped toe box provides room for the toes.

Airy on warm days: The breathable mesh and moisture-wicking lining keep feet comfortable even on long summer stages. However, this barefoot hiking boot is not waterproof – that is the price for its ventilation.

In the package: 1 pair of Xero Shoes Scrambler Mid II Men, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The term ‘barefoot shoe’ describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not a bare foot.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Plan for 12–17 mm of extra space beyond your foot length.

Is the insole in this shoe removable?

Yes, the insole is removable. It is 3.5 mm thick – without it, the shoe has a bit more room, and you can feel the ground more directly.

I am wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I look out for?

Soreness in your calves and the soles of your feet is normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in a new way. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and increase gradually. If you have existing foot ailments or joint problems, consult your doctor or orthopedist before making the switch.

Is the Scrambler Mid II waterproof?

No, the breathable mesh allows water to pass through. For wet conditions, a model with a membrane is more suitable.
