What is the Xero Shoes Xcursion Fusion suitable for?

Designed as a barefoot hiking boot for weekend hikes, backpacking trips, and walks on wet forest trails. At approx. 297g per shoe, it's barely noticeable on your foot.

Protection without restricting the foot: Behind the outer fabric shaft is a water-repellent membrane, the inner seams are sealed, and the tongue is sewn in up to the first hook. Morning dew, rain, and shallow puddles stay out.

Grip on changing surfaces: The outsole with 3.5 mm dual-chevron lugs provides grip on forest paths, fire roads, and firm gravel. An embedded midsole provides light cushioning, but ground feel is still maintained.

Room for your toes, stable stance: The foot-shaped toe box allows your toes to splay, and the zero-drop keeps you grounded. The Huarache-inspired tension straps under the shaft hold the foot without constricting the instep.

Note on residual stock: The Xcursion Fusion was originally advertised as waterproof. As this stock has been stored for some time, we are preemptively declaring it only water-repellent.

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, perfectly normal. The name 'barefoot shoe' describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not the bare foot.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Allow 12–17 mm in addition to your foot length. Since the manufacturer states that the Xcursion Fusion runs half a size small, choose half a size larger than usual.

Is the insole removable in this shoe?

Yes, the insole is removable.

Do my feet stay dry in the rain and on wet grass?

Constructed with a water-repellent membrane, sealed seams, and a stitched-in tongue. As a remaining stock item, we preemptively declare the stock as only water-repellent – yes for rain and wet paths, no for prolonged wading.

I'm wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I be aware of?

Soreness in your calves and foot soles is normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in a new way. Start with 30–60 minutes daily and gradually increase. If you have existing foot ailments or joint problems, talk to your doctor or orthopedist before switching.

Care & Cleaning

Cleaning: Hand wash with warm water and mild soap. Do not put in washing machine or dryer.

Waterproofing: If water repellency diminishes, refresh with a waterproofing spray for textile shoes.

Drying: Air dry, do not place directly on a heater or in direct sunlight.
